Mr Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), says a total of GH¢9.5 million will be given to the best performing teams in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
According to Mr Okraku, the winner of the 2025-26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) would get GH¢2 million while the runner-up would get GH¢1million.
He also stated that the best-placed 15 teams in the GPL would also receive some cash rewards at the end of the season.
Speaking at the 31st Ordinary Session of Congress held at Ghana Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Tuesday, Mr Okraku said Ghana football was witnessing unprecedented investment in football across various levels.
“For the first time in the history of Ghana football, the winner of the GPL will get GH¢2million. What we are doing currently is to elevate our league to attract and be the best on the African continent.
The new merit award announced would see the 3rd place team receive GH¢800,000 and 4th-placed team GH¢750,000, the 5th placed-team would get GH¢700,000 while the 6th-placed team would also receive GH¢600,000.
Other cash prizes include 7th-placed team (GH¢650,000), 8th-placed team (GH¢550,000), 9th placed-team (GH¢500,000), 10th -placed team (GH¢450,000), 11th placed team (GH¢400,000), 12th placed team (GH¢350,000), 13th placed team (GH¢300,000), 14th placed team (GH¢250,000) and 15th placed (GH¢200,000).
